What dreams are made of

I can't tell you how much I would love to have my own vintage shop in Camden. Words actually fail me. When I walk into one I feel like I've been transported to another world of beautiful treasures, amazing music and like minded people. I could spend hours in there. I feel having a little shop all of my own is what I'm supposed to do in this life and while I'm at it we could include a vegetarian café.

The chances of this becoming a reality - near to zero.

I went to Camden yesterday with my folks, as well as Louie and Milly. I think they were pooped from all the walking to care that people were fawning all over them (Lou and Mills, not my paremts...)

We went to a little shop in the stables called Verve London Pet Boutique. As well as being a little shop full of doggy treats, it's also home of 'Louis Café' named after the owner's pet Chihuahua who features in most of the ads.

Louis rockin' some shades

They also have one in Notting Hill

Here are some of my other 'must see' places in the glorious world of Camden.

EATERIES AND DRINKERIES

Inspiral
An organic, vegan and raw food café. Inspiral does some great desserts, smoothies and teas. Open till late, this little café really gets going on weekends with DJs and open mic Sundays. With it being vegan, it's obviously an eco-friendly gaff, but it also uses 100% renewable energy!

Gilgamesh
This is definitely in my top 5 places to eat, ever! (Along with Terre a Terre, Brighton - but that's another blog) It's not just because of the food, which is lovely, don't get me wrong, but as soon as you walk past the flamed posts and step onto the escalator, walk through to the coat check and are taken to your seat, you know you're in for something special. The lavish surroundings and attentive staff are key ingredients to what make this pan-asian restaurant worthy of its award winning status.

Ice cream goes all Heston Blumenthal with liquid nitrogen. This is the first ice cream parlour to do so in Europe. With each ice cream made directly infront of each customer, it's also a magical feast for the eyes. It's a fabulous snippet of performance art that's great for the kids.

Probably the most obvious venue in Camden, but one of the oldest and the best. The ballroom came about in 1938, having played host to the likes of The Who, Sex Pistols and The Kings of Leon over the years, the club's still going strong. It's open during the day at weekends as a clothes and accessories market.

Unfortunately I couldn't get as many pictures of things as I would have liked as there are massive, 'NO PHOTOGRAPHY' signs everywhere. Shame really.
